January Monthly Appeal: Lutheran Theological Seminary

Children’s Message Planning Meeting Today at 11:30 AM in the Library, for those people who have volunteered to do the Children’s Message on Sunday mornings.

AED Training
The church will be receiving an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) shortly as a result of a kind donation. We are looking for a few members who attend church on a regular basis to receive a 3 to 4 hour training session on the device so that they could be certified to use it in the event a Cardiac Emergency might arise at the Church. Anyone interested please call or email Dan Arnal, the Building Supervisor, at 204.253.1491×24 or email property@faithlc.ca

The Morning Glories and the Faith Lutheran Book Club Chapter 1 are once again collecting baby items to make up Layettes for women who attend Knox Healthy Start for Mom and Me, a parenting support program for refugee and immigrant women who are pregnant or have children under 1 year of age. We invite the congregation to join us in collecting the following items:

  • Cotton sleepers size 0-3 months
  • Flannelette receiving blankets
  • Onesies size 0-3 months
  • Small package of newborn disposable diapers

These items can be dropped off in the box in the Narthex.  We will be putting together the layettes for delivery in February.  For further information contact Susan Care at 204-253-4385 or at scare@mymts.net

The St. Vital Inter Faith Habitat project has been approved as one of the Habitat builds for 2016. We will construct the house during the weeks of July 11 and 18. We are now asking for names of interested volunteers to help with the actual construction. Volunteer construction workers need to be at least 16 years old, be willing to take instruction, be physically fit, and must pass an online safety course. No further construction experience is required. Further info and instructions will be provided by Habitat. Please inform one of the Faith Reps (Kris R., Dan H., Dan R., Garry P., Ken S., or Orly F.) of your interest.
