We invite the congregation to help us meet our goal for this project -30 cans of fruit and 30 boxes of granola bars (with your help we might even reach 60 of each!!!). Please bring in your donations on Sunday June 4th. Thanks for helping us make this project a success.
Summer Music Academy July 24-28, 2017 The Providence Summer Music Academy is for students, grades 8-12, who just love music!
This week-long summer camp will provide students with stimulating and fun instruction from our experienced faculty while allowing them to grow and learn new skills and gain confidence in their abilities as musicians. We offer instrumental instruction in guitar and piano as well as instruction in voice and theatre. This week is sure to be both inspiring and fun for all young musicians. See poster in the Narthex.
2017 ELCIC National Convention Volunteers Needed
This summer Winnipeg will host our National Church Convention at the University of Manitoba July 6-8th. As the host synod, we are looking forward to welcoming around 200 delegates, visitors and guests from across Canada and around the world.
The Local Arrangements Committee is in the midst of attending to the many details, including recruiting volunteers. We have an urgent need for volunteers for the following areas: Stewards, Ushers, Information Desk, Registration, Transportation, and Office Support.
No experience is necessary and the time commitment can be as little as a few hours. If you, or someone you know is available please let us know!
A volunteer orientation session will take place 10AM-12PM Saturday June 24th @ St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Lay Academy Sessions: June 3 and June 10
Welcoming the stranger and getting to know one’s neighbors, be they inside or outside the pew, has never been the easiest of missions. At first glance it may appear like we have nothing in common with some people but we need to commit to listening and connecting, to going a step beyond. Join us for the LAY ACADEMY session on Saturday June 3rd and 10th from 10:40 am to 1:10 pm as we discuss and learn about ‘loving others as ourselves’. We feature speakers from across the four western synods for 2 x 2.5 hour sessions on Building Community: Welcoming the Stranger/Loving Our Neighbor, facilitated by Rev. Dave Saude of the Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario Synod. Information on cost & site of attendance will be forthcoming.
