Men’s Breakfast
The Men’s Breakfast will be starting up for our fall/winter season on Saturday, September 12th. Our membership currently has a core of 12- to 14 men in the congregation, who faithfully attend – for the most part. I would like to see those men in our congregation who have thought about attending, but never taken the time. Our breakfasts usually take place on the 3rd Saturday of the month, commencing at 8:30 in the Blue room. We share breakfast recipes from Red River cereal to bacon, eggs and more (all for $5.00 by the way). We have prayers and table topic discussions, relating to everyday situations that affect our lives, the lives of our families and our community. Please consider attending one of our meetings. You will take part in the community of our church and create common friendships with other men in our church community. If you are looking for church outreach programs; you may be interested to know that our funds support other activities in our church, Street Links and the Urban. Contact Trevor Hayden for more information at 204/795-8771 or [email protected] and commit to joining our Men’s Breakfast family on September 12th.
Youth Group starts on Sept. 11!
Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to be part of the Faith Lutheran Youth Group. We gather an average of twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month, from 7:00-9:00 pm at Faith for a time of fun, fellowship and usually some snacks. Our first youth group event for this year is on Friday, Sept. 11. We will have a games night and a snack bar, followed by a brief time of evening prayer. This first youth group event will be open to youth from other Lutheran churches in Winnipeg. We’d love to see you there! If you have any questions about youth group, please contact Isabel Tkach, one of the youth leaders.
Confirmation starts on Oct. 4!
Confirmation is for students in grades 6-9 and is a chance for some focused learning and reflection on what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and a part of the Lutheran tradition. Confirmation classes happen on Sunday afternoon from 2:00-3:30. At Faith, we do Confirmation with other Lutheran congregations through the City-wide Confirmation program. This year’s confirmation classes begin on Oct. 4. The fall classes will be at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. If you have questions about Confirmation, please talk to Pr. Chris or Deacon Michelle.
